It comes without images, so you don’t realize you are having a memory. Moreover, this part of the brain cannot distinguish between the past – people, time, or place. It sees everything as the same. The memory triggers certain emotions and accompanying perspectives of your environment but can also be activated by an emotion. It is reciprocal in nature.

When experiencing a positive, or empowering, emotional state, you see yourself as competent, others and the environment realistically, and feel energized. It is you at your best.

Other implicit memories cause you to see yourself as inadequate in some way, others and the environment become distorted and larger than life, and they shut down your adaptive energy.

The long-term solution is integrating these implicit memories into the present through emotional processing so you can no longer be pulled into them. Prior to completion of this process, the key is learning how to shift into your self-at-best state. This is accomplished through accessing certain emotions and interpersonal interactions that unlock your peak potential.
Once you have identified the situations and emotions that unleash your self-at-best state, it is through focused attention and tracking of the felt sense in your body that enables you to access them. In addition, remaining oriented to the energy in the body for an extended period of time allows what is referred as neuroplasticity to take place. This is when the brain and the nervous system make new neural connections allowing this state to expand and deepen. This goes beyond motivation and hype and creates a new biological you, allowing you to manifest your full potential more frequently and to a greater extent.
