Are you still playing it safe? Are you limiting yourself due to beliefs you have internalized from peers, parents, and culture about what is possible and what you are capable of? Is there some faint voice or longing in the background trying to let you know you're capable of more? Are you tired of living a life of dissatisfaction and lack of fulfillment or mediocrity at best?
I tried to ignore this voice for a long time. Another voice tried to encourage me to just be satisfied with my lot in life and stop causing myself needless suffering by desiring more - eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die. However, no matter how much I attempted to quiet this voice through distraction, partying, and stimulation I could not silence it. I am now so grateful for its tenacity. it was my true self refusing to be defeated by my small self.
This voice would become louder when I would observe others who were much less talented, intelligent, and capable than myself succeed in numerous areas. I identified that in many of these cases it was almost purely their self-confidence that allowed them to succeed despite their low-level, or lack, of aptitude. Now I want to be more than someone who is confident but with no substance to their message. But I realized you can have great content, but without sufficient belief in yourself few would listen.
Maybe, what I'm saying resonates with you or perks up that internal voice, which periodically challenges or encourages that you are for something greater. I can assure you it speaks the truth.
Steps to unlocking your full potential
As I came to learn, the first step to unlocking the greatness that lies within you is to identify the things that are getting in your way. I am speaking in terms of emotional blocks, such as fear, shame, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs. This is where the old programming and conditioning lies. What I came to discover in my own life and through helping thousands of individuals is this old programming can be undone and reprogrammed. However, this cannot be achieved through just trying to change your thinking. It has be shifted subcortically in the emotional brain through experiential work that can be accomplished in a variety of ways. I will regularly provide guidance in how this can be accomplished.
Begin today by attempting to look beyond what you can see and consider what may be possible for your life. Track and notice the first thing that happens when you do this. Do you become filled with excitement and passion, or do experience anxiety and negative thoughts. If you encounter the former, sit down and explore the possibilities of ways you would like to restructure your life to begin going beyond what presently seems possible. If the latter occurred, notice where you felt the tension or anxiety in your body. Focus on it, let your mind go, and observe whatever comes in and out of your conscious awareness. You may notice the energy in you body moves around or increases or decreases in intensity. Spontaneous thoughts, images or memories may surface. Continue to track and notice whatever happens with no expectations. The old conditioning lies within your body and needs to be released.
