So many people are caught waiting for the perfect idea or time to act. In reality, this doesn't exist. The majority of the time success begins by getting moving. Delaying action for the perfect moment is like standing on the sideline waiting to run onto the field until victory can be assured. There is no way to know until you get in the game and play it.
An antidote to 'analysis paralysis' is taking action. Take a step no matter how small. There is a lot to be said for getting momentum. A very accomplished client of mine told me so many people wait around for the perfect idea before they implement it. After building a highly successful business he informed me, it is not as important to have the best idea but to be the best at implementing what it is you choose to do.
Nothing is wasted
This means becoming great at something will likely lead to success no matter what that something is. To achieve this goal requires practice and experience. Moreover, in my experience nothing is wasted in the long-run. Everything I have done in my life, no matter how seemingly unassociated at the time to what I now do, has benefited me in my current endeavors.
Don't allow yourself to be one of the vocal majority who have a thousand 'great' ideas and have done none. It is easier to steer a moving vehicle than a stationary one. Find an action to take every day no matter how small. One of the most beneficial things I discovered in helping people is you are never stuck. There is always something you can do; even attempting to figure out what to do is doing something.
Identify a place to act no matter how small
If you are already taking action, great, keep moving. If you feel stuck in your life today, identify an area to get a win no matter how small. And remember, nothing is wasted. Even if it is just doing your best at the most menial task, it will still develop a mindset of excellence that will definitely pay off for you in the future.
Lastly, we all experienced moments in our history in which we were helpless and powerless to act. These states are often reenacted in the present leaving us immobilized and frozen. When you engage in an act, no matter how small, it can keep you in a more empowered state helping you avoid dissociating into a body memory of being helpless.
Challenge yourself today to get out there and do something. You are capable and always have a choice in how you respond to any event. Now get going!
